HDTV -- For an additional cost, cable providers can provide High Definition Television (HDTV) using HD signal transmission. HDTV signals provides better picture quality than traditional analog TV transmissions. HDTV requires a HDTV monitor to function, so you will need to purchase an HDTV monitor. Most cable companies provide a special HDTV converter box that receives the signal and converts it so it can be seen on a HDTV monitor.

VoD (Video-on-Demand) -- an umbrella term for a wide set of technologies whose common goal is to enable individuals to select videos from a provider for viewing on a television at their convenience. VoD includes features such as the ability to pause, rewind, and fast-forward -- just like watching a DVD or videotape.
